Peak Garden Design create gardens with wildlife, the environment and beauty in their essence.

Peak Garden Design approach garden design with your needs and those of wildlife and the enviroment in harmony. Garden spaces should be beautiful, calm, functional and aid our connection with wildlife, the countryside and our ever changing climate. We focus on sensitive design and gardens that grow and evolve over time.

We are based in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire and have been transforming garden spaces for over 23 years. We design gardens in the Peak District, Sheffield, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.

We offer a friendly and personal approach and believe rapport and understanding are key to developing a strong working relationship with you - the client. We like to add our ideas, flare and style to your space, however - above all - we want to design the garden that you want.

We are equally comfortable wth modern or traditional spaces, and compact or expansive gardens. We particularly enjoys the challenge of gardens with challenging shapes, complex slopes and terraces. With the right approach, these can deliver some truly stunning outdoor spaces.

The Process

The initial consultation

Rapport is key is the design process - I believe this is a chance for us to meet and for you to decide if I am right for your project. We can discuss options, prices and create a bespoke package to suit your project, space and budget.

The Site Survey

During the survey I will record and assess various aspects of the site, soil, property and surroundings. I use 3D surveying techniques, so can accurately record the existing plot and it’s topology. I measure the location and size of all key windows and doors that connect with and overlook the garden. The garden has to be a beautiful space to be, but should also look great from inside your home. The 3D design will allow you to see the garden from key vantage points within your home.

Initial Concept Ideas

We begin by exploring various options to satisfy your requirements for your outdoor space. This stage in extremely useful for me to really understand how you may use the space and what is really important to you.

3D Garden Design

The 3D garden design can accurately render your new garden with realistic colour/texture and scale. It gives you the ability to view the garden from any angle and consider every aspect of the space, sightlines and focal points. It is also useful for viewing your future garden from inside your home and through key windows/doors.

A powerful tool that ensures your garden will be reaslised how you want and with consideration of function and form.

Landscape drawings

We can produce accurate drawings and dimensions to aid the construction of your new garden. This is particularly useful in spaces with complex topologies and levels.

Planting Plans

Planting is the heart and soul of a garden space - not just beautiful, but a home for wildlife too. We can produce planting schemes to suit your space, soil and preferences. Planting should be comfortable in your space and provide beauty, interest and habitat throughout the year.

Low maintenance or hands-on, we can offer planting plans to suit you and your garden.

Project Management

We offer various project management packages to ensure your garden is constructed smoothly and efficiently.

We can offer a scope of works and help ensure you and the Landscaper are aligned on the garden design and ensure that the finished Garden is exactly how you’d like it.

With over 20 years experience, we are experienced in projects large and small.

Sitting at the drawing board and designing gardens on paper is how I used to design all gardens. I still really enjoy that process and love the tactile and personal approach. However, over the years it has become easier and much more efficient to design on software and provide clients with a 3D ‘walk-around’ design and service.

Designing in 3D has many advantages and gives you a much more realistic and versatile representation of your finished garden. I generally specialise in gardens with complex topologies, containing slopes, terraces and challenging shapes and forms. It is extremely difficult to effectively represent these spaces on a 2D, hand-drawn design. Yes, I can provide isometric and 3D views on paper, however, these are just one angle from one viewpoint. 3D software and garden designs allows you to view you garden from every angle and explore all options - you can see you garden from your favourite favourite living room seat or from you office window. 3D software allows us to tweak and devolop your design.

    - Mr and Mrs Griffin

  • "If I were to summarise Jason in one sentence it would be an excellent service, inspired design and excellent value for money"

    - Mr and Mrs Anderson

  • "We asked Jason to design a rear and front garden that fitted with an extension to our suburban semi. Jason listened carefully to our thoughts and needs and generated a computer design that really allowed us to visualise how things would look. The result is we now have a garden unique to our road and one which fully meets our needs and keeps on giving over time."

    - Mr and Mrs Brennan

  • “We knew we needed help designing our garden and were lucky enough to come across Jason and Peak Garden Design. We had a completely blank canvas, but had some specific ideas about what we wanted. We couldn’t be happier with what Jason came up with and how the garden now looks after a couple of years of maturing. Jason is super professional and very skilled in what he does and we would highly recommend his services.”
